Jeff Nix Scholarship

At the 2008 Camouflage Kids fundraising event, Ray Stults (co-founder of Camouflage Kids) announced the formation of a Jeff Nix Scholarship for a high school senior.

Camouflage Kids, in coordination with the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Division, is sponsoring the Jeff Nix Scholarship for a deserving high school senior who is a child of a U.S. Military service member in the Colorado Springs-Pikes Peak region.

There will be one (1) scholarship in the amount of $5,000 awarded. The scholarship will be awarded to a child who has been accepted to an accredited college or university seeking support for either a traditional degree-seeking bachelor’s program, or for vocational / career and technical education. Applicants must be committed to attend during the 2009–2010 academic year.

The Colorado Springs-Pikes Peak region was instrumental in the formation of Camouflage Kids as we started our program with Fort Carson and the Air Force Academy in 2005.

The scholarship is awarded based on character, leadership, potential for academic success, the importance of the scholarship to academic pursuits, and financial need. A Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of members of the Military Affairs Committee of the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, will score all applications and select the scholarship recipient.
